Abstract:
In this article, the author reviews the literature on the interpersonal relationships that can exist between students and college or university faculty. She then puts into perspective the aspects that emerged from her doctoral research, concluding by discussing various strategies educators can use to establish a quality teacher-student relationship with students at risk of dropping out, with a view to giving them support and helping them succeed.
