Acceptance of Terms

Users of the ÉDUQ open archive agree to the terms of use set forth below. The Centre de documentation collégiale (CDC) reserves the right to modify these terms at any time without prior notice.

All material contained in ÉDUQ is protected under the Copyright Act of Canada. ÉDUQ documents with an express Creative Commons licence may, however, be subject to a less restrictive use, in accordance with the specific licence conditions.

Copyright in documents posted to ÉDUQ is held by the authors, publishers, or other assigns of these documents.

The Centre de documentation collégiale (CDC) has a non-exclusive licence to distribute the electronic documents deposited by assigns to ÉDUQ or to its Regard catalogue.

Users may consult and download any electronic document in ÉDUQ only for non-commercial purposes of personal research or research by a Quebec college interest group, or for educational purposes. Users are invited to share the permalink (permanent URL) appearing in the item’s record instead of downloading it.

The Centre de documentation collégiale (CDC) staff carefully selects the ÉDUQ content. However, the CDC does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, timeliness, completeness, or comprehensiveness of the information provided in ÉDUQ.

The content of the ÉDUQ Open Archive was created, assembled, and distributed for the convenience of users for information purposes only. The CDC team and its partners are not responsible for any direct or indirect harm caused by using ÉDUQ or due to its unavailability.

Protection of Personal Information

The Centre de documentation collégiale (CDC) does not collect any personal information about the user without his or her permission. The ÉDUQ site does not automatically collect any personal information. The CDC does not transmit any personally identifiable user information to third parties.

Voluntary Transmission of Personal Information

Information voluntarily communicated by email or electronic form will never be used to compile a user profile and will never be shared with third parties.

Automatic Transmission of Non-Personally Identifiable Information

Non-personally identifiable information will be automatically shared between your computer and the CDC server when you access ÉDUQ. No information that may be used to identify you is transmitted during this exchange. Information transmitted includes:

  • The Internet domain name and IP address used to access ÉDUQ;
  • The type of navigator and operating system used;
  • The date and time on which ÉDUQ was accessed;
  • The different pages consulted and the length of these consultations;
  • The address of any other site used to access ÉDUQ.

Non-Personally Identifiable Data used for Statistical and Technological Purposes

The CDC collects the non-personally identifiable data listed above for statistical and technological purposes only, to track user numbers, to identify the most popular ÉDUQ pages, to compile an overall picture of the technology used by Internet users in order to adapt ÉDUQ, and to identify the user’s country of origin.

Personal CDC Account and Password

Only staff of Quebec colleges and college-network partners, university students, or researchers interested in the Quebec college network who reside in Quebec may apply for a personal CDC account. This account is for the exclusive, individual use of the person who satisfies these criteria and may not be shared or sold to any other person or group. You are personally responsible for protecting your password and the CDC is not responsible for any unauthorized access to your personal CDC account.

ÉDUQ includes links to other web pages or sites that may interest its users. The CDC does not control the content or reliability of these resources and is not required to trace information where there is an outdated or broken link.
