"How do you capture students’ attention and get them
to actively engage with concepts that seem far removed
from their everyday reality? I have often asked myself this
question in my pedagogical practice. In response, I developed
the enigma-based approach, a pedagogical method
inspired by the work of philosopher John Dewey. This method
aims to transform the classroom into a field of investigation,
where students become true detectives. While
I have anchored this practice in the teaching of sociology,
its potential extends far beyond that discipline. In science
as in philosophy, history or geography, solving an enigma
engages students in a process of critical thinking, analysis
and collaboration. In this article, I detail how to structure
this approach and explore ways to adapt it to different
pedagogical realities." -- AQPC |
