dc.description.abstract "The editorial committee of Pédagogie collégiale, of which I’m a member, has long been considering the idea of a thematic issue on research. Yet we hesitated: wouldn’t the subject be considered too dry or too far removed from the daily concerns of teachers? Would the theme, though specialized, capture the interest of our readership? And, most importantly, what does this readership know about the state of research at the college level, particularly research in pedagogy? So let me ask you a few questions: Do you know any researchers in college pedagogy? Do you follow their work? What role does research in college pedagogy play in your thinking and practice? What steps are your departments and programs taking to make space for this research? fr
dc.description.abstract We have chosen the theme of transfer for this issue because it seems to offer a way of making the subject more accessible and bringing the research and teaching communities closer together. To facilitate this convergence, we feel it is important to establish a shared understanding of the state of research in college pedagogy, knowledge of which is, to say the least, uneven across the network... I can personally testify to this, having taught for almost 10 years before learning that it was possible to do research at the college level. Today, as a member of the editorial committee versed in research, I have been given the mandate to write this article, in which I will do my best to provide an accessible overview of the state of research in college pedagogy, an overview that will reflect my particular experience as a teacher-researcher who, little by little over the years, has become a researcher. While not exhaustive, I hope that this text will enlighten readers on this professional dimension of the college network, which remains insufficiently known and recognized to this day." -- AQPC fr
