Abstract:
Can plagiarism be seen as the “scourge” of modern times? What are the different ways students can cheat when doing homework or during an in-class exam? How can teachers learn to recognize cheating, and what can they do when they suspect it is occurring? Can methods or strategies be implemented in a classroom or an entire college to dissuade students from plagiarizing? Are there resources teachers can use to combat cheating? Answers to all these questions can be found in this article, which is the result of the authors’ participation in measures taken by the CÉGEP de Sainte-Foy to counteract plagiarism and the two educational advisors’ thoughts at the conclusion of this experience.
